Multidisciplinary artist Derek Schklar’s work is distinctive for its gritty aesthetic and documentary approach. After making his name as a music producer and photographer in his home city of Atlanta, Derek transitioned into directing with a series of music videos for the late rapper Trouble. This included the celebrated 40-minute film ‘Edgewood’, which marked his debut as a narrative filmmaker and writer.

His commercial work includes an apocalyptic campaign in the Hollywood Hills for cult skate brand Babylon. While in the music video realm, Derek recently helmed as creative director for the exhilarating ‘High3r’ visuals for Mike WiLL featuring Lil Yachty and Lil Wayne. Notably, Derek’s promo ‘Something Wicked’ by hardcore band Trash Talk was nominated for Best Rock Video at the 2021 UKMVAs. Further promos include the erotically and politically charged ‘Love Is A Punk’ for Louisahhh, which utilised archive material mixed with contemporary footage.
