Director and photographer, India Sleem frames subtle nuances within everyday scenes to render her characters’ lives truly cinematic. With a keen eye for colour and composition, India captures intimate moments by bonding with actors and documentary subjects deepening the impact of her filmmaking and photography.

The prioritisation of authenticity throughout her creative approach has led India to meaningful collaborations in the advertising space. Starring Sha’Carri Richardson, her mesmerising Olay spot is inspirational and affecting. India has amassed an impressive collection of commercials for brands including Apple, Nike, Fenty, Gap, Converse and Vogue. With India’s Nike’s Air Force filmmaking finalist for the AICP’s Best Advertising Campaign.

As a photographer, India has shot for major brands such as Nike, adidas and Athleta, and style publications including Esquire and Dazed – while building a rich documentary portfolio.

India is currently in post-production on ‘Crusts’ – her debut short, and in development on her first feature.
