Isaac Lock is a writer and director known for his observational and satirical film work that teases out the idiosyncratic beauty of the human spirit with a unique humorous touch. His first documentary feature, ‘You Will Be With Us In Paradise’ – which chronicled an unlikely couple’s attempts to revive the iconic Italian fashion brand Fiorucci – showcases this with aplomb.
As a director, Isaac’s ease of approach consistently draws authentic performances from his subjects, notably Naomi Campbell and Nicholas Hoult in Burberry’s ‘London In Love’ SS/25 collection, for which Isaac directed an episodic mockumentary social campaign. Additional talent highlights include Saoirse Ronan, Victoria Beckham and Dua Lipa in award-winning projects for Vogue.
His eye for elevated comedy is shown further throughout his British Airways advert, ‘British People’, in addition to spots for Zalando, Mercedes Benz, Tod's, Woolmark and Victoria Beckham Eyewear. Isaac’s cinematic ability is captured in ‘Harmónia’, a radiant spot for Nanushka based on a musical social experiment.
Isaac cut his teeth as a journalist and editor, working at major fashion titles Love and Fantastic Man and contributing features and profiles to titles including i-D, Vogue, The New York Times and The Observer. Alongside his film work, he continues to write as a humorist, creating insightful, observational essays about the world we live in.
