Ned Botwood
Ned Botwood is a British director and photographer. His work is warm and affectionate, characterised by emotional honesty, secret communities, sweeping rural beauty, and an evocative use of colour.
In 2021, he directed ‘Happy Pride, from the Middle of Nowhere’ for British Vogue, a joyful documentary tackling the misconception that queer people don’t belong in rural places. The film was nominated for a 1.4 Award, Best Low Budget Film at Ciclope 2021, and made Pick of the Day on David Reviews, who wrote: ’This is thoughtful, stereotype-busting work… a love letter both to nature and to those embracing their nature.
His follow-up, ‘First Acts’ for British Vogue x Tiffany, featured frank interviews with A-listers about their early careers, and was nominated for a British Arrow.
More recently, he has directed music videos for Henry Moodie, Metronomy and Katy J. Pearson. As well as supervised creative direction for British band Junodream.
